He has since condemned reports that the Shanghai SIPG striker will be missing in action on March 24.
Gyan suffered an injury in their opening Asian Champions League clash with Melbourne Victory three weeks ago and was also absent against Korean side Suwon Bluewings.
Last Saturday, Gyan was not selected for SIPG’s Chinese Super League opener against Henan Jianye in the 1-0 defeat.
But his camp says his absence was not serious and only a precautionary measure ahead of Friday’s derby clash against Shanghai Shenhua.
“This sort of journalism must be condemned because you don’t know the degree of the injury Asamoah has, but you just go ahead and publish that he will be missing a big game like this without even consulting the Ghana FA but let us assure you all, the captain will be arriving on the reporting day”, he told Starr Sports.
Meanwhile, coach Avram Grant will be releasing his call up for the game Tuesday.
