Many Ghanaians have admitted that Flowking Stone, half of hiplife group Bradez is a good rapper but he has not attained the success due him. Many have rated him ahead of many rappers in the country but he does not gain the attention he needs.
Highlife singer, Dada Hafco has prophesied that the musician who recently released the much talked about rap song, “Fire Bon Dem” remix which features Sarkodie and Shatta Wale will reign the Ghanaian music this year. The former member of Mframa music group on Happy FM in Accra disclosed why Flowking Stone after ten years of rapping is still underrated.
“Back in the days, contemporary highlife was dominating the Ghanaian music industry. If you were a good rapper, you needed a good chorus to compose a hiplife song. After that season, dancehall also came to reign”Hafco continued that “but this is the time Ghanaians have come to understand hardcore hiphop. From shots on shots by Sarkodie and Ice Prince to the fire bon dem remix, Ghanaians have come to accept hardcore rap music.”
“I can tell you that is now that Flowking Stone is coming to reign as the king because we are in his zone. Judging from the two songs he recently released, Fire Bon Dem and Judgement, this is his time because Ghanaians have come to understand that you don’t need a sweet chorus for a hardcore hiphop. It could be a talking chorus or whatever it is. Once your rap is dope, you are good to go.” he told Dr. Cann, host of Showbiz Xtra.
